PCB Transformer Sourcing for Electronic Designs

OrinewPCB · Components + turnkey PCB assembly
Source transformers and related magnetic components for your approved electronic design. OrinewPCB can review exact part numbers within a component order, complete BOM or turnkey PCB assembly inquiry.
100% new, original, genuine components. Exact parts, approved alternatives and a quotation based on your requirements.

What to know before purchasing: A transformer transfers energy through magnetic coupling between windings. Power, gate-drive and signal transformers have different design requirements; a matching package or nominal turns ratio alone does not establish equivalence.
Transformer for PCB and Product Projects
Power-conversion transformers
Provide the approved part number or a complete winding and performance specification. The conversion topology, frequency and electrical operating conditions determine what magnetic component is suitable.
Gate-drive and isolation transformers
Specify the application and required turns ratio, inductance and isolation test conditions. Include relevant volt-time, leakage or capacitance requirements from the approved design.
Signal and interface magnetics
Record the interface, winding arrangement, pinout and electrical performance requirements. Do not select a signal transformer solely by the outline or a general application label.
100% New, Original, Genuine Components
OrinewPCB’s supply commitment covers the electronic components we sell and the components we supply for our turnkey PCB assembly builds. We do not supply used, refurbished or remarked components.
We work with component manufacturers and distribution partners to offer competitive purchasing and lead-time options. Our reputation is built around supplying the approved parts and communicating the actual purchasing conditions clearly.
Tell us your required date/lot conditions, packing, labeling or supporting documentation before ordering so the available evidence and requirements can be confirmed for the quotation. We do not replace a released BOM part with an unapproved alternative.
Transformer Specification and Purchasing Checklist
Use the approved manufacturer data and your released design to define the requirement. The following inputs help us prepare a useful quotation and identify questions that need engineering approval.
On a phone, swipe this table sideways to see every column.
| Input | What to specify | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Identity and application | Approved manufacturer part number and power/gate-drive/signal use. | Different applications require different magnetic characteristics. |
| Winding arrangement | Turns ratio, polarity and connection/pin mapping. | The schematic and physical terminals must agree. |
| Inductance and parasitics | Required inductance, leakage and capacitance limits as applicable. | Equal turns ratios can still produce different circuit behavior. |
| Electrical operating point | Current, voltage, frequency and relevant volt-time conditions. | Operating limits depend on the intended waveform and topology. |
| Isolation requirement | Specified voltage, duration and applicable test conditions. | A headline isolation number needs its stated conditions. |
| Loss, temperature and fit | DCR/thermal constraints, dimensions and footprint. | The electrical and mechanical requirements must both be satisfied. |
A Turns Ratio Is Not a Complete Transformer Specification
Keep the approved winding arrangement, inductance, leakage, isolation conditions and operating limits with the part number. For a custom requirement, attach the complete magnetic specification and drawing so feasibility can be reviewed. Do not treat an existing part as equivalent merely because its ratio and case size match.
Prepare a Transformer Quotation
Send the approved requirement
Provide full manufacturer part numbers or the BOM revision, quantity basis, packing and destination. Identify open specifications and any fixed constraints.
Review the sourcing options
Confirm quoted identity, quantity, price, availability and lead time. Review proposed alternatives separately and approve changes before the order or build is released.
Connect purchasing to the build
For turnkey PCBA, align the BOM with fabrication files, placement data and the assembly drawing. Define programming and testing needs explicitly.
Example Inquiry Wording
Please quote the approved transformer or magnetic specification attached to BOM revision C. Turns ratio, winding polarity, inductance and isolation test conditions are defined in the drawing. Proposed alternatives need approval. Include component sourcing and assembly for the same board revision.

Transformer Sourcing FAQs
Can you quote a transformer without an exact part number?
For an initial review, provide the application, winding arrangement, electrical limits, isolation conditions and mechanical drawing. A complete approved specification or exact part number is needed to define the purchasing requirement.
Why does a transformer quote need isolation test conditions?
An isolation rating is stated with conditions such as voltage type and test duration. Specify the requirements that apply to the actual design so the proposed part can be reviewed appropriately.
Can transformers be included in turnkey PCBA sourcing?
Yes. Include the exact magnetic component in the BOM and show winding connections and orientation in the assembly drawing. State any insertion, mechanical support or test requirement in the project scope.
Are the components supplied by OrinewPCB new and genuine?
Our supply commitment is 100% new, original, genuine electronic components. It also applies to components we supply for our turnkey PCB assembly builds. We do not supply used, refurbished or remarked parts.
How are pricing and lead times confirmed?
Send the exact part number, quantity, packaging, destination and requested date. Our manufacturer and distributor relationships support competitive sourcing options; actual price, availability and lead time are confirmed for the quoted items and quantities.
What should I send for a components or turnkey PCBA quote?
For components, send exact manufacturer part numbers or a BOM with quantities and requirements. For turnkey assembly, add PCB fabrication files, placement data and the assembly drawing. Include any programming and testing scope before production is released.
