ORINEWPCB · FROM YOUR DESIGN TO AN ASSEMBLED BOARD

Hobbyist PCB Assembly & Small Project Builds

Have a circuit-board design ready to build? Request PCB fabrication, genuine component sourcing and assembly in one coordinated quote—from an individual hardware project to an engineering prototype or a small batch.

Tell us your required finished quantity, BOM status and target date. We will review feasibility, scope, pricing and the available delivery plan for your actual design.

Choose the build support your project actually needs

Hobbyist PCB assembly turns a released board design and BOM into populated circuit boards. Bare-board fabrication makes the unpopulated PCB; assembly adds the specified components. OrinewPCB can quote a coordinated turnkey build, or a clearly defined partial scope if you plan to purchase or solder selected parts yourself.

This service is for electronics enthusiasts, independent hardware developers and engineering teams with a design to manufacture. If you only have an idea, tell us what is ready before expecting a production quote. A PCB screenshot or schematic alone does not define a complete assembly order.

Match the quotation to the work you want supplied
Service option What to define Useful when
Full turnkey PCBA PCB fabrication, BOM procurement, assembly and agreed inspection or tests in one scope. You want a coordinated build and fewer separate purchasing handoffs.
Partial turnkey assembly Which parts we source, which you supply, material condition and the handover plan. You already hold selected components or need to retain purchasing responsibility for specific items.
Bare PCB fabrication Board files, stackup, material, finish, quantity and mechanical requirements. You intend to assemble the board yourself. State that populated boards are not required.

A useful quote starts with a consistent file set

Export all manufacturing files from the same approved board revision. KiCad and other PCB tools provide fabrication and component-placement outputs, but the export settings, coordinate origin and assembly notes still need review for the receiving process.

01 · BOARD

PCB manufacturing data

Send Gerber and drill files, or another format agreed with us. Include the board outline, layer count, thickness, finish and any stackup or special fabrication requirements.

02 · MATERIALS

A sourceable BOM

Use manufacturer names, full manufacturer part numbers, reference designators, quantities per board and packages. Identify DNP parts, variants and any approved alternatives.

03 · ASSEMBLY

Placement and instructions

Provide placement data with side, coordinates, units and rotation, plus assembly drawings for polarity, pin 1, connectors and special work. Include programming and test requirements.

Start with the quantity you actually need. Specify finished assembled boards per design or variant, rather than only a panel count. Add the pilot quantity and possible repeat quantity if relevant. Minimum order feasibility and any setup or tooling charges are confirmed for the project; this page does not promise a universal minimum.

Need a more detailed handoff? Use the assembly drawing and release checklist. If some files are not ready, send your present status and questions for an initial discussion.

Genuine components and a defined quality route

100% new, original genuine components

OrinewPCB supplies and uses 100% new, original genuine electronic components in our component procurement and turnkey PCB assembly work. We build our brand around reputation and reliable sourcing.

Our cooperation with component manufacturers and distributors supports competitive project pricing and delivery options. Exact availability, source, price and lead time depend on the MPN, quantity and quotation date. If a part is constrained, we discuss the options with you; a proposed substitute requires your approval.

For customer-supplied parts, identify the supplier, packaging, quantity and condition separately so receiving and handling responsibilities can be agreed.

Our nine-stage quality workflow

We plan quality from incoming material through shipment. The applicable stages and inspection coverage are confirmed for the build; not every stage applies to every process, and these are not nine separate electrical functional tests.

01

Incoming quality control

Review incoming boards and materials against the agreed receiving requirements.

02

Solder paste inspection

Review paste deposits where required by the SMT process.

03

Online AOI

Use the applicable inline optical inspection stage for the assembly route.

04

First-article SMI

Review first-article placement and assembly against the released requirements.

05

In-process quality control

Check the agreed process points while the build is in progress.

06

Offline AOI

Apply further optical inspection where specified for the product.

07

X-ray inspection

Review applicable concealed joints and features using the agreed scope.

08

Manual quality review

Complete the specified visual and workmanship checks.

09

Shipment preparation

Confirm the release requirements, packaging and delivery identification.

Define programming and functional testing separately. Supply firmware, safe power-up instructions, fixtures or interface details and pass/fail criteria when required. An optical inspection does not demonstrate that every circuit function has been tested.

Keep a small build practical on cost and delivery

Our focus includes small and medium batches and high-mix projects. The aim is a clear build scope and an achievable delivery plan, with component sourcing, board fabrication and assembly reviewed together.

  1. Resolve the BOM before committing to a date. Flag unavailable parts and agree whether to wait, use an approved alternative or change the design.
  2. Separate setup from recurring unit costs. Ask what the quote includes for fabrication, materials, assembly, preparation, inspection, tests, packaging and shipping.
  3. Freeze the revision and variant list. Record DNP positions and quantity per version. Changes after purchasing or production release can affect cost and schedule.
  4. Give us the required arrival date and destination. We review the earliest practical production plan and shipment options. Production time and transit time are different; delivery is confirmed in the quotation.

For an engineering validation build, review our prototype PCB assembly service. For components only, use the component and BOM sourcing directory.

Hobbyist and small-project PCB assembly FAQ

Can I order only bare PCBs and assemble them myself?

Yes, ask for PCB fabrication only and provide the board manufacturing requirements. If you want selected components assembled, identify those reference designators and the remaining work you will complete.

Can OrinewPCB buy the components for my project?

Yes. For a turnkey quotation, send a BOM with full manufacturer part numbers, quantities and approved alternatives. We review sourcing, availability and assembly scope using new, original genuine components.

Is there a fixed minimum order or guaranteed turnaround?

Feasibility, minimum quantity, setup charges and delivery depend on the board, BOM and required work. Send the quantity you need and target date so we can review the actual project rather than promise a universal minimum or lead time.

Can I use KiCad files for a hobby project?

Prepare the fabrication outputs, BOM, placement data and assembly notes from the same revision. Tell us your tool and available files so the accepted format and any missing information can be confirmed before release.

Will every board receive a complete functional test?

Functional testing is included only when its scope, equipment, firmware and acceptance criteria are agreed. The nine-stage quality workflow does not mean that every electrical function is automatically tested.

Can a hobby prototype become a repeat or multi-variant order?

Yes, discuss the intended quantities, variants and revision plan. Keep the BOM, approved alternatives, test requirements and release records controlled as the project moves toward a repeat build.
