ORINEWPCB · PCB, COMPONENTS & TURNKEY ASSEMBLY

Automotive PCB Manufacturing & Assembly

Bring your vehicle-electronics project from approved board files to a controlled assembly build. OrinewPCB combines PCB manufacturing, new original component sourcing and turnkey PCB assembly, with a particular strength in small-to-medium batches and multiple product variants.

Define the automotive application before comparing suppliers

A cabin accessory, a vehicle-mounted sensor and a safety-related controller can have very different acceptance requirements. Start with the installation environment, electrical interfaces and intended use. Send the customer specification and required supplier approvals with your inquiry so we can review the actual manufacturing scope.

Inputs for a comparable quotation
Review item What to specify Why it affects the quote
Application and installation Intended function, installation location, operating environment and product lifecycle. Material, protection and validation decisions should follow the actual duty conditions.
Board construction Stack-up, copper, finished thickness, surface finish, critical holes and controlled-impedance requirements. A layer count alone does not define an equivalent automotive PCB.
Components and traceability Full orderable MPNs, required temperature grades, permitted sources and lot/date-code documentation needs. Genuine parts still need the correct grade and customer-approved sourcing conditions.
Assembly and protection Population variants, connector orientation, selective coating areas, programming and inspection instructions. Different variants need controlled work instructions, even when they share one bare board.
Qualification and acceptance Customer-specific approvals, documentation, test procedure, limits and retention requirements. Confirm supplier suitability and deliverables before issuing a production order.

Release variants without losing configuration control

For a high-mix program, supply a variant matrix alongside the BOM. Identify fitted and do-not-fit positions, firmware versions, labels, connector options and the quantity for each configuration. A clear first-article review can help resolve a mismatch before the remaining batch is released.

  1. Provide fabrication files, assembly drawings and BOMs under one revision reference.
  2. Identify critical characteristics and the checks or records expected for them.
  3. List any component qualification requirements and approval conditions for alternatives.
  4. Define the first-article acceptance point and responsibility for engineering questions.
  5. Agree functional tests, programming files and the evidence required with shipment.

Qualification is a project requirement, not an assumed label

Do not infer automotive qualification, IATF 16949 certification, functional-safety compliance or PPAP approval from a general PCB assembly description. Tell us what your customer requires so applicability, supporting documents and supplier approval can be confirmed before an order is accepted.

Component qualification and finished-system acceptance are different decisions. The approved BOM, assembly process and product validation must match the application. If the project is safety-related, include the relevant acceptance and approval requirements at the start.

Quality from the bare PCB to the finished assembly

Every bare PCB we manufacture receives flying-probe electrical testing, not just a sample. Include the netlist where available and identify the required electrical-test records in your RFQ. Bare-board electrical testing checks manufactured networks; it is distinct from assembly inspection and finished-circuit functional validation.

OrinewPCB supplies and uses 100% brand-new, original, genuine electronic components in customer turnkey assemblies. Our manufacturer and distributor cooperation helps us seek competitive BOM prices and practical delivery options. Confirm full MPNs, source restrictions, documentation and current availability for your project. Proposed alternatives require your approval.

Nine PCBA quality stages

Our assembly quality workflow covers nine stages, with the applicable inspection scope agreed for the build:

  1. IQC: incoming material checks.
  2. SPI: solder paste inspection.
  3. Online AOI: in-line optical inspection.
  4. SMI: first-article inspection.
  5. IPQC: in-process quality checks.
  6. Offline AOI: post-solder optical inspection.
  7. X-ray: hidden-joint inspection to the agreed scope.
  8. Manual QC: workmanship review.
  9. Pre-shipment QA: identification, quantity and packaging checks.

These are nine quality stages, not nine functional tests on every assembly. Programming, ICT, functional testing and application-specific validation need agreed procedures, access or fixtures and pass/fail criteria. See our factory and quality workflow.

One sourcing and assembly review for your product mix

Small-to-medium batches and high-mix turnkey PCB assembly are core OrinewPCB strengths. Bring the board, BOM and assembly instructions into the same release review so purchasing and production refer to the same product configuration.

PCB fabrication

Manufacture from the approved construction and files, with each bare board flying-probe tested.

Component sourcing

Request full-BOM purchasing or specific parts, with new original genuine components and agreed alternatives.

Turnkey PCBA

Coordinate boards, BOM sourcing, assembly and the agreed inspection, programming or test scope.

Our sourcing relationships support competitive complete-build pricing. Compare quotations on the same BOM, material, quantities, documentation and test scope; a low individual line item does not define the total project cost.

Plan the earliest practical delivery from a complete release

We prioritize quality and work toward the earliest practical delivery for your agreed build. Send the quantity for each model, critical parts, repeat-order expectations and target date. State whether the date means completion, dispatch or arrival. Component availability, engineering questions, fixtures and agreed tests affect the confirmed schedule.

If the deadline is tight, identify the minimum first batch and any acceptable staged deliveries. See our quick-turn project planning guidance. A schedule is confirmed after the files and sourcing requirements are reviewed.

Request your Automotive PCB Manufacturing review

Tell us whether you need bare PCBs, component sourcing or a complete turnkey PCBA. Files are optional for an initial discussion; describe the application and we can clarify the information needed for a useful quotation.

  • PCB files, fabrication drawing and current design revision
  • BOM with full MPNs, placement data and assembly drawing
  • Quantity for each model or variant and target delivery date
  • Vehicle function, installation environment and required customer approvals
  • Variant matrix, traceability requirements and first-article acceptance criteria

Automotive PCB Manufacturing & Assembly FAQ

Can you combine automotive PCB fabrication, components and assembly?

Yes. Request the full turnkey scope and provide the released board files, BOM, placement data and test requirements. We review the application and any customer-specific qualifications before confirming the build.

Do new original parts automatically meet an automotive requirement?

No. The component must also match the approved MPN, grade, qualification and documentation requirements for that application. State these requirements in the BOM and purchasing instructions.

Does flying-probe testing validate the automotive module?

It verifies the manufactured bare-board networks against electrical test data. It does not validate firmware, assembled-module behavior or vehicle-level environmental and compliance requirements.

Can you quote several automotive variants in one project?

Yes. Send the quantity and controlled BOM, population, firmware and labeling differences for each variant. Separate mandatory requirements from options so the quotation can show the real scope.
