ORINEWPCB · FLEX CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY
Flexible PCB Assembly Services
Bring your flex circuit, BOM and mechanical requirements into one build review. Request flexible PCB fabrication, component sourcing and assembly together, with handling and testing agreed for your project.
Include bend areas, stiffeners, component placement and your sample or production quantity.

FLEX FABRICATION AND ASSEMBLY
From a flexible circuit to a populated assembly.
Flexible PCB assembly mounts and solders components onto a flexible circuit. A complete project review considers the circuit construction, component locations, mechanical use and the support needed during manufacturing and testing.
Fabrication scope
Define material, stack-up, coverlay, stiffeners, finish and dimensions. Share the mechanical drawing with the fabrication data.
BOM & placement
Send full manufacturer part numbers, reference designators, placement data and assembly drawings. Identify approved alternatives and supplied parts.
Assembly & test planning
Discuss circuit support, handling, connector orientation, programming and test access. Define the required acceptance criteria before the build is approved.
DEFINE THE MECHANICAL USE
Where should the circuit bend, and where should it stay supported?
A circuit formed once during installation and a circuit that flexes repeatedly in service have different mechanical demands. Identify the intended motion, bend regions and supported component areas in the drawing rather than relying on a general “flexible” description.
Bend regions
Mark bend locations, orientation and the intended radius or mechanical envelope. Share repeated-motion requirements where relevant so the construction can be reviewed.
Stiffeners & connectors
Specify stiffener material, thickness and outline, including connector insertion requirements. The relationship between supported regions and bend areas matters.
Assembly support
Show populated regions, panel features and areas that can contact a carrier or fixture. Support and handling must account for the circuit shape and component placement.
QUOTE PREPARATION
What to send for a flexible PCB assembly review.
| Requirement | Include in your project package |
|---|---|
| Circuit construction | Material grade, layers, finished thickness, coverlay, copper and required finish |
| Mechanical drawing | Outline, bend zones, installed shape, stiffeners, connector areas and critical dimensions |
| Assembly data | BOM, placement file, component side, rotation, assembly drawings and do-not-fit positions |
| Handling & panelization | Any panel format, carrier restrictions, fragile features or special packaging requirements |
| Quantity & sourcing | Prototype and batch quantities, full or partial turnkey responsibilities and approved alternatives |
| Testing & delivery | Inspection requirements, programming, functional test procedure, target date and destination |
Material availability, dimensions and process limits are confirmed against your actual construction. Ask for current capability and certification documentation where your purchasing requirements depend on it.
COST AND SCHEDULE
Quote the construction, BOM and assembly together.
Flex material, layer construction, outline, stiffeners, panelization, component availability and test preparation affect the project quote. A price per square inch cannot describe the complete cost of a populated flex assembly.
Share both the first-build quantity and the expected next batch. Review material changes, tooling or fixture costs and the practical schedule before approving procurement and production.

START YOUR FLEX PCBA REQUEST
Request a flexible PCB assembly quote.
Send your available files or describe the circuit and mechanical requirements. Tell us whether you need bare flex fabrication, assembly using supplied materials or full turnkey support.
- Fabrication files and the mechanical drawing
- BOM and component placement/assembly data
- Bend regions, stiffeners and installed configuration
- Sample and production quantities, target date and destination
- Programming, functional testing and handling requirements
Files are optional for an initial discussion. You can send them by email when ready. Submitting an inquiry does not approve material changes, purchasing or production.

PROJECT QUESTIONS
Before quoting a flex assembly.
Can I combine flex fabrication, component sourcing and assembly?
Yes. Include fabrication and mechanical files, the BOM and placement data. Confirm the agreed sourcing, assembly and test responsibilities in the project quote.
Does every flexible circuit support repeated bending?
Repeated flexing requires a construction and mechanical design suited to the intended motion. Specify the bend regions and service conditions so those requirements can be reviewed separately from a circuit formed once during installation.
When should I include a stiffener drawing?
Include it when the design requires local support, connector insertion thickness or defined component areas. Specify the material, thickness, outline and its location relative to bend regions.
Is a stiffened flex circuit the same as rigid-flex?
A stiffener provides local mechanical support to a flexible circuit. Rigid-flex combines rigid and flexible circuit sections in its construction. Identify the structure your design requires when requesting a quote.
What determines flex PCBA cost and lead time?
The construction, material availability, BOM, quantity, assembly support and agreed tests all contribute. A reviewed project quote is needed to confirm price and schedule.
